ING. (MRS) Mabel Akuorkor Amoako-Atta – Secretary
Ing. Mabel Amoako-Atta is the Secretary of the Public Services Commission. She is a Civil Engineer by profession and a seasoned public servant with over thirty (30) years of experience in various positions and roles in the Public Sector of Ghana.
Ing. Mabel holds a BSc. Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and MSc. Environmental Assessment and Management from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Ing. Mabel is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) and a former Councilor of the Institution.
As an Engineer, she began her professional career at the Department of Feeder Roads in1989. She served in various capacities at the Department and became the first female Regional Engineer in the Department in 1996.
In 2008, Ing. Mabel Amoako-Atta joined the Local Government Service as Head of the Quality Assurance and Technical Services and became the Director, Management and Technical Services in 2012. She was instrumental in the setting up of the Departments of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and the development and publication of Operational Manuals for Departments at the MMDA level. She has over twelve (12) years’ experience in local governance and decentralisation.
Ing. Mabel Amoako-Atta joined the Public Services Commission as the first female Secretary to the Commission in 2020.
