The Public Services Commission Trains Its Staff On Gender Mainstreaming
In order to implement the activities under the Public Services Commission’s Gender Strategy and Action Plan, the PSC organized a training workshop on Gender Mainstreaming for its staff on Thursday, 2nd November, 2023.
The Gender Strategy and Action Plan is one of the Commission’s deliverables under the Public Sector Reform for Results Project which is being implemented under the auspices of the Office of the Senior Presidential Advisor.
Dr. Prince Edward Darah, a Member of the Commission, opened the training workshop. He welcomed participants and stated that the training was integral for the Commission to lead the change in enhancing public service delivery as overseers of the project. This, he added, necessitated the need to prioritize Gender Mainstreaming in the Commission.
Ms. Sabia Kpekata, a resource person from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection facilitated the training workshop.
The training workshop was participatory which afforded the participants with varied, insightful contributions, inputs and suggestions on ways in which the Commission could successfully incorporate Gender Mainstreaming. In conclusion, participants agreed that the Commission had made significant strides in fostering Gender Equality at the workplace.
